Aeromate

Environmental control for drying and maturation: wine, aromatic herbs, cheese, charcuterie, cigars. Aeromate reads temperature and humidity, computes the dew point and the vapour pressure deficit, and drives the chamber's equipment to keep the process within the right parameters, whether the chamber is a cellar, an adapted refrigerator or a purpose-built curing room.

How it works

The base is simple on purpose. Two sensors, temperature and humidity, and one or two actuators: in the smallest case, a Peltier dehumidifier inside a refrigerator; in the full case, the refrigerator itself and the dehumidifier, driven together. The firmware does the rest: it holds the target dew point, tells compressor cycles apart from real humidity events, and warns when something needs maintenance.

The most mature module, Aerodry, has two years of continuous operation in a real environment. The full story of its development, including the security audit we ran on it in public, is in the logbook.

Three ways to get there

Community. The open version, for people who want to build their own device and learn with us along the way. The knowledge circulates; formal support is not part of it.

Kit. The turnkey version, from the low-cost essentials to the full configuration, for people who want the result without assembling the system.

Service. The kit together with what we do best: the installation design, the implementation, the security analysis of the environment and the regulatory conformity. For producers and companies where the chamber is part of a business, with the obligations that brings.

A platform for continuous monitoring and conformity is also in preparation, to accompany the kits and the service.

A product born inside the regulation

Aeromate will reach the European market already under the Cyber Resilience Act, and it has been prepared for that since the prototype stage, with the process documented openly in the logbook. Whoever buys an Aeromate buys a device designed for the rules that will come to separate the connected products that can be on the market from the ones that cannot.

The product is at the prototype stage, expected to reach the market between 2027 and 2028. If you do maturation or drying and want to follow the development, or talk through your use case, write to us: oi@folhas.io.
